Matthew J. Malone: Chief Investment Officer

Matthew J. Malone

Mr. Malone is the Chief Investment Officer and Co-Founder of Clearspring and has spent his entire 16 year career helping grow small and medium-sized businesses. Prior to joining Clearspring 5.5 years ago, Mr. Malone was Vice President of Commercial Banking at Bank of Texas where his responsibilities included growing and maintaining a loan portfolio comprised of small and middle-market companies primarily located in Texas.

Mr. Malone started his banking career with Bank of America (through its acquisition of NationsBank) where he was an Associate Relationship Manager and Credit Products Associate. After Bank of America, Mr. Malone went to work for Merrill Lynch where he obtained his Series 7, 63 and 65 as well as his Insurance licenses. From Merrill Lynch, Mr. Malone went to work for Citibank (through its acquisition of First American Bank) where he was a Senior Relationship Manager and Vice President of Corporate Banking, managing over an $80 million small and middle-market loan portfolio.

Matt is an active member of the community in Dallas. He is a former board member of the Dallas Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and he is active in The Finance Forum, Southwest Venture Forum and Texchange. Matt is currently a board member and President Elect for the McKinney Education Foundation, a $5 million foundation located in his hometown of McKinney. MEF's primary mission is to support high school graduates from McKinney by providing them college scholarships and grants.

Mr. Malone graduated with a major in Finance from The Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. Matt currently resides in McKinney with his wife and three children.
